Bringing life to the community
In 2012 we entered into a partnership with Hadley Property Group in response to the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) quest to find a new way of regenerating neighbourhoods with innovative thinking and creative investment. Greenwich Square, in the heart of south east London, was the result of this quest. As co-investor, co-developer and delivery partner for the £138 million, three hectare brownfield regeneration scheme, we are creating a vibrant new destination, providing 645 new mixed-tenure homes – including 50% affordable housing. The scheme will also provide community facilities including a leisure centre, library, health centre and shops all planned around an attractive town square, a real community hub.
A one-stop delivery shop
And our input doesn’t stop at being co-investor and developer, we’re also providing services across project management, sustainability, and implementing supply chain and construction works.
We’ve been working with the GLA from the early days of the project to ensure that the development meets its strategic housing objectives, as well as providing strategic health support as outlined in the NHS business case.
“Greenwich Square is a great example of GLA land being regenerated into much needed housing and key community facilities”
With a project that’s all about giving back, we are also ensuring that the scheme delivers ancillary benefits for the local community through local employment. Training opportunities and apprenticeships are also succeeding in engaging young people and fostering an interest in the construction industry.
We are very proud of our role in the delivery of Greenwich Square, which has become a blueprint for public and private collaboration, and demonstrates how private investment can bring development opportunities back to life and create new communities and housing fit for the 21st century.
