A sporting legacy
As part of the CLM consortium we delivered one of the most successful Olympic and Paralympic Games in history. The medals have been won and the closing ceremonies held, but the story is by no means over. Now leading the post-Games legacy project, we are transforming the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park into a world-class destination, making us one of the only companies to have worked on the event from bid stage through delivery to legacy - an accolade to be proud of.
A new park for all
As project management partner for the LLDC, we are responsible for the delivery of the £485 million Olympic Park as well as the ongoing conversion of the Olympic Stadium into a multi-purpose arena. The south of the park includes modified venues such as the Aquatics Centre and the Velodrome, whereas the north includes a new digital quarter and residential village. Although we were able to make full use of the exemplary programme management systems set up for the Games, this project has not been without its challenges. A number of events held in the Olympic Park meant works had to be flexible and ensure safe access to the public while remaining on target for the programme.
The story continues
Our involvement does not end with the recent handover of the Park, thanks to a new appointment from the LLDC which includes the programme delivery for Olympicopolis, a new cultural quarter.
It is a privilege to be part of the team demonstrating how a sustainable community can be delivered on the back of an enormous international event. Having helped inspired a generation with the Games we now hope to do the same with its legacy.
