A Window of opportunity
One of the world’s best known companies, Microsoft’s real estate portfolio covers 850 sites globally. These buildings are overseen by Microsoft’s real estate and facilities team, and managed by a co-located ‘integrator’, which runs regional groupings of tier-one suppliers. In 2012 we were thrilled to be appointed to two regions – Asia and EMEA.
Initially we provided project and cost management services, though this was extended in early 2013 to provide principle project management services, providing a single point of accountability for project delivery around the globe.
It’s working well
Since being appointed on the framework, we’ve successfully delivered several projects in Europe and Asia, covering office consolidations works, fit-outs, refurbishments and new build works.
We are currently busy in even more locations including Africa and Ireland – a direct result of our knowledge and experience in these countries, and the quality of our regional employees. Our local teams are overseen by dedicated senior Mace employees allocated to the Microsoft account to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery, and a dedicated Key Account Manager to facilitate communications between Mace, the integrator and Microsoft teams.
Clear operating systems
The communication structure is potentially complex, with Microsoft’s global headquarters in Seattle and multiple regional tier-one suppliers and stakeholders around the world. To overcome this, clear and transparent reporting is essential and we are delighted to have been commended on the quality of our own on-boarding, reporting and information management and to have been praised for management of project ‘data integrity’.
Microsoft expects the best from its partners. With our track record of successful delivery, industry-leading expertise and expert teams on the ground, we’ve been working hard to ensure we meet that expectation, offering service excellence that Microsoft can continue to rely on.
